Foxhunting Clinics at Arcadia Farm

September 18/19 and October 16/17

Hunt season is right around the corner. Come out to Arcadia Farm for some helpful instruction geared towards fox hunt style of riding. Jennifer will identify what each rider/horse needs to work on to create a safe, confident pair that are ready for the hunt field.

1st day of clinic: Working on jumping technique over fences in the ring. Riders have the opportunity to practice any rider position changes over simple exercises in the arena.

2nd day of clinic: Take the techniques we practiced in the ring out to the cross country field. Practice riding correctly over changing terrain and over natural fences in the field similar to hunt field riding.

Jennifer will provide very helpful hints to give riders increased balance, control, stamina and safety in the hunt field. Clinic will be a fun and low-key. Please don't be discouraged from attending because you may not take regular instruction.

Clinic Fee: $50 per day. $10 overnight stabling (bring feed/hay) Participants can choose to ride only one day, however both days are recommended since it is a progression.

2009 Eventing Camps at Arcadia

Both summer camps at Arcadia Farm in 2009 were incredibly successful. Participants traveled from Kansas, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Huntsville, Priceville, Florence and Tuscumbia, AL.

The July camp included participation in the River Glen Horse Trials in Knoxville, TN. All campers competed well - with numerous clear show jumping and cross country rounds. Three junior riders brought home ribbons from the very competitive division they were placed.

We all enjoyed our evening activity dinners prepared by Martha. Our out-of-town visitors also appreciated some special 'Southern Dishes' they had not before experienced.
